against revelations

under perpetual (de-/re-) construction

against the contriving of/for "revelations" facilitated by anglo-poetic institutions' dominant lyric mode; against language unchallenged as is; against indulgence in sentiment; for interrogation of naturalized form & syntax; for symbol+language integration to elucidate systemic relations; for situating sentiment; for fucking grammar, invert-rendering:

why this website?

i keep a much simpler carrd for my publications, but i wanted to have a more informal/casual website to share updates + essays + thoughts with friends, especially since i'm now semi-inactive on social media.

about me

i write poetry & weird prose* under/as t.r. san. i am rakhine + transgender + a lesbian; i was/am loosely based in yangon, but i move around a lot; a lot of my friends are in bangkok & chiang mai. an incomplete list of influences include qiu miaojin, helen oyeyemi, [sarah] Cavar, k-ming chang, jos charles, layli long soldier, greer lankton, & alice notley. i enjoy discussing/ writing on/ reading about shoujosei anime & manga (particularly the year 24 group), yuri, materialist transfeminism, radical feminist movements in the global south, queer epistolaries, the modernist and postmodernist novel, postmodernism & institutionalization of the avant garde, & anti- & trans-formal & -genric prose //+ poetry. my name/pseudonym is not, as many surprisingly seem to think, an anagram of "trans".

* mostly flash fiction, though lately i've been fleshing out more longform prose projects. i loathe the term experimental fiction, because (sub)genric categorization of any kind entails forcible association with certain stylistic and structural choices that paradoxically become conventions of what is supposed to be free of or against (institutionally backed/ demanded) convention. that said, a lot of my fictions are experiments, so i will occasionally use it in reference to my work.
